Self-Portraits Project
The creation of the self-portraits began during the quarantine in 2020. It is an ongoing project with three distinct spines, also distinguished by the color editing from black to white and to color.

Feeling’s Dark Bleeding
The first series of photographs is characterized by black and is titled Feeling’s Dark Bleeding. It explores an underlying need to express those emotions often referred to as heavy or “negative.” These are feelings that one neither easily nor often dares to confront, giving them the space and time to externalize and be expressed in order to understand their deeper roots and causes.

Not Just This Girl Standing on the Corner
The second series of photographs is characterized by white and is titled “Not Just This Girl Standing on the Corner,” inspired by an instinctive exploration of the self within the surrounding space, as well as objects in different internal, habitable, or uninhabited spaces. It is an attempt to convey and depict, through my body, the vibrations and emotions evoked by the words of Francesca Woodman when she said: “Am I in the picture? Am I getting in or out of it? I could be a ghost, an animal or a dead body, not just this girl standing on the corner?”

A Pilgrim of Myself
The third series is characterized by color and is titled “A Pilgrim of Myself.” Here, as in the second series, the words of A. Pizarnik: “The pleasure of losing yourself in the image foreseen. I rose from my body and went out in search of who I am. A pilgrim of myself, I have gone to the one who sleeps in the wind of the country,” become the inspiration for my first color photographs. These later evolve into an internal, personal quest and understanding of the self through dreams, imaginary images, and everyday symbolic objects that take shape and form through my conscious and unconscious photographic clicks. A visual whisper of intimacy into silently well-hidden inner psychotopias.

Unattractive Beauty
The idea for this project began when I noticed that my gaze touched all those small details that one does not easily notice in everyday life and does not pay attention to them because of their unattractive appearance most of the time. These unseen things, the misshapen or neglected by time, insignificant and invisible in external and internal spaces, familiar and not, created small scenes in me where the presence of man was narrated through how light and shadow tightly embraced the unobservable. These insignificant things where perhaps some human hand or body was once touched by a human gaze, those that still stand there naked of aesthetic harmonies and embellishments, those that reveal the strange connection that emerges when the unattractive reveals its unexpected beauty directly to the heart.
